We’re very proud to announce The Xth Baikal International Festival of Documentary, Popular-Science and Educational Films “People and Environment” has awarded Connecting Delta Cities for the best documentary film. The festival was held in Irkutsk, Russia, from 7-10 October 2011.
As appears in the film, New York City is one of the most vulnerable delta cities in the world regarding flood risk. Scientists of the VU University of Amsterdam, Arcadis and the City of Rotterdam plan to help the city to protect against flooding.
Today the VU University released a press notice about their initiative (in Dutch).
